I retrained as a civil funeral celebrant in 2014, qualifying in the spring of 2015, with Civil Ceremonies in Cambridgeshire.

I was initially drawn to working as a funeral celebrant having attended a friend’s husbands service, which I later understood to be non-religious. I came away feeling uplifted, my eyes opened to a lighter and brighter farewell. Not the sombre, black affair to which I was accustomed.

​

Several months later, my friend suggested I explore working as a celebrant, believing my personal qualities to be the perfect fit for the profession. And so, my journey began... training was rigorous - exams were challenging, but with gritted determination, and a deep desire to support grieving families, I pushed on. 

 

Now, ten years later, I'm as passionate as the day I turned the first page of my studies, and I'm beyond proud to share my skills and experience with newly bereaved families; my true vocation.

Together, I'll gently support you and your family, guiding you through the process of planning a funeral or celebration of life ceremony which reflects your wishes, and those of your loved one.

 

From services conducted at Crematoriums and local authority cemeteries, to Natural Burials and ceremonies conducted at home or places that are meaningful to you, I'll help you achieve the ceremony you wish at a  venue and day/time of your choosing. (including evenings & weekends). I can also help advise of your options where a direct cremation's involved.

Together, in a relaxed, informal manner, we’ll discuss at your pace, the qualities that made your loved one unique and special. We’ll then give some thought as to how you may like to say goodbye. I’ll then pull all the elements of the service together, and deliver the service on the day. 

 

The emphasis very much on 'Celebrating the life' of your loved one, leaving you, your family and friends with joyful memories you can take forward into the future.
